HÀ NỘI — No 1 seed Hoàng Thành Trung eased to victory in his first match at the Việt Nam Tennis Federation Masters 500, Viettravel Cup on Tuesday in Lạng Sơn Province.
The Hải Đăng Tây Ninh player trounced Từ Ngọc Nhựt of Becamex Bình Dương 6-0, 6-1.
Trung, 37, is a former member of the national team. He will next play Ngô Hùng Thuận of Hưng Thịnh-HCM City.
No 2 seed Nguyễn Đắc Tiến of Hà Nội easily won 6-0, 6-0 over Nguyễn Minh Nhật of Hưng Thịnh-HCM City. He will meet Huỳnh Minh Thịnh from Becamex Bình Dương who struggled to beat young talent Nguyễn Quang Vinh of Hưng Thịnh-HCM City 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.
On the women's side, No 1 Trần Thuỵ Thanh Trúc of Hưng Thịnh-HCM City and No 2 Phan Thị Thanh Bình of Đà Nẵng also advanced.
Trúc won 6-1, 6-1 over Lê Thị Đào of Hải Dương while Bình beat Giáp Minh Tâm from Bắc Giang 6-0, 6-0. — VNS
