Hà Nội — Becamex Bình Dương head coach Trần Minh Chiến has quit the club.
He tendered his resignation yesterday in a letter to the club’s board on Friday.
"I sent the letter and it was accepted," Chiến was quoted as saying on bongdaplus.vn.
"It is a regret but it is better for the team," he said, giving no reasons for his sudden departure.
Chiến’s leaving was a shock to both the team and supporters as he proved his ability during one year in charge of the former champions.
The former national striker led Becamex Bình Dương to win the National Cup trophy in 2018. After three matches of this year season Bình Dương won one, drew one and lost one, and currently sit in sixth place.
The V.League will be back after nearly a month break. Teams will play the fourth game on April 6.
Becamex Bình Dương will face against Shan United of Myanmar in the AFC Cup on April 3.
