Hà Nội — Coach Nguyễn Quốc Tuấn has called up 30 players for the ASEAN U22 Football Championship in Cambodia next month.
Among them are 17 players from the U19 squad who will play an important role for Việt Nam’s key at the SEA Games in 2021. Others called up competed at the U20 World Cup in 2017.
Team will gather for practice in Hà Nội next week.
They will play a friendly match against South Korean Ulsan Hyundai FC at the Hàng Đẫy Stadium on January 26.
At the championship, Việt Nam will play East Timor (February 17), Brunei (February 19), Laos (Februay 21), the Philippines (February 23) and Thailand (February 25) in Group A. Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia and Singapore are in Group B.
Two best teams of each group will advance to the semi-finals. The final match is scheduled for March 2. — VNS
