HÀ NỘI — V.League 1 side Becamex Bình Dương will train in Bangkok, Thailand from January 16-21.

As part of the training, they will have a friendly match with Thai top-flight team Bangkok United FC on January 17.

The trip aims to help Bình Dương hone their skills to prepare for the upcoming Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup in March.

As National Cup winners, Bình Dương are in Group G of AFC Cup alongside Shan United of Myanmar, Ceres–Negros of the Philippines and Persija Jakarta from Indonesia.

Bình Dương, who finished seventh in the national premier league, have four foreign players in their line-up for the AFC event including Brazilian Wander Luiz and Elis Koulibaly from Burkina Faso.

Luiz scored 13 goals in 22 matches in the national top flight league in 2018, while Koulibaly was top scorer of the BTV Cup 2018 with four goals.

The team have also signed young midfielder Trần Hữu Đông Triều and goalkeeper Phạm Văn Tiến from Hoàng Anh Gia Lai.

Triều, 23, was one of four HAGL players invited to train with English Premier League side Arsenal for a month in 2012. — VNS
