HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF) has confirmed all 14,000 tickets for the match between Việt Nam and Cambodia in Group A of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018 have been sold.
The match will be taking place at Hàng Đẫy Stadium on Saturday instead of in Mỹ Đình National Stadium as Mỹ Đình National Stadium is preparing for the opening ceremony of the National Sports Games on Sunday.
However, according to VFF general secretary Lê Hoài Anh, the VFF only sold 14,000 tickets compared to the capacity of 20,000 seats of Hàng Đẫy Stadium in Hà Nội.
The reason is the quality of Hàng Đẫy Stadium is downgraded. Besides, Hàng Đẫy Stadium has large billboards in D Stand so the VFF didn’t sell tickets for this area.
Tickets are sold for VNĐ100,000 (US$4.3) VNĐ200,000 ($8.7) and VNĐ300,000 ($13).
Fans often set off flares at Hàng Đẫy Stadium in the national premier league, so the VFF said security would be enhanced for the match.
Earlier, in Việt Nam’s 2-0 win over Malaysia in the second match of Group A of AFF Cup held at Mỹ Đình Stadium, there were at least five flares set off, meaning the VFF is likely to be fined by the AFF soon. — VNS
