HCM CITY — Từ Lê Khánh Duy won the U18 men’s singles of the VTF Junior Tour 4 – Hưng Thịnh Cup 2018 yesterday in HCM City.
Duy of Becamex Bình Dương beat his teammate Huỳnh Minh Thịnh 6-0, 4-6, 7-5.
Duy dominated early and took the first set without dropping a game, before Thịnh fought back to level the match.
In the final set, Duy used his greater experience to outlast Thịnh and take the trophy.
Meanwhile, Trần Thuỵ Thanh Trúc of Hưng Thịnh – HCM City overcame overseas Vietnamese Tiffany Linh Nguyễn of Becamex Bình Dương 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 to triumph in the women’s side.
In the U16 division, Tất Thái Nguyên of Hưng Thịnh – HCM City defeated his teammate Trần Tiến Thịnh 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 to win the title.
The nine-day event was organised by the Việt Nam Tennis Federation, HCM City Tennis Federation and the municipal Department of Culture and Sport. — VNS
