HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese tennis player Vũ Hà Minh Đức defeated Wang Kaiwei from mainland China in the first round of the Việt Nam F4 Futures – Hải Đăng Cup 2018 on Saturday in the southern province of Tây Ninh.

Đức overcame Wang 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.

Trần Quang Trường also defeated Rajendra Kedam from Indonesia, and Timothy Toàn Phụng beat Dean Williamson of New Zealand 6-0, 6-0.

Vũ Artem lost to Jayesh Pungliya 6-2, 6-1 while Võ Trường Hải was beaten by Vũ Long Kacper (6-1, 6-2).

Trần Quang Trường faces second seed Nitin Kumar Sinha from India and Đức will meet third seed Yu Cheng-Yu from Chinese Taipei today.

Việt Nam’s best hope is Lý Hoàng Nam, ATP 497, who from Tây Ninh. — VNS
