HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese female rowers bagged one more silver medal at the Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018 in Indonesia on Friday

The team of Phạm Thị Huệ, Lê Thị Hiền, Trần Thị An and Đinh Thị Hảo finished second in the women’s four category with a time of 7:14.52.

Chinese rowers took gold medal with a time of 7:05.50. The hosts Indonesia won a bronze medal with a time of 7:19.02.

This is the fifth silver medal obtained by the Vietnamese sports delegation at ASIAD 2018.

Earlier, the Vietnamese female rowing team, comprised of Tạ Thanh Huyền, Lường Thị Thảo, Hồ Thị Lý and Phạm Thị Thảo brought home the first gold medal for Việt Nam. Their win marked the first time Vietnamese rowers have earned a gold medal at an Olympic event.

With one gold and one silver gained, the rowing team has had the best results of the Việt Nam sports delegation in the Asian event.

At present, Việt Nam have won one gold, five silvers and seven bronzes to rank 14th in the medal tally. — VNS
