Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyền Xuân Phúc has sent congratulations to the Vietnamese Olympic team after they beat Bahrain 1-0 in men’s football at the Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018 to enter the quarter-finals for the first time ever.

HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has sent congratulations to the Vietnamese Olympic team after they beat Bahrain 1-0 in men’s football at the Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018 to enter the quarter-finals for the first time ever.

The PM also expressed his wishes that the team will continue to play successfully to become the pride of Việt Nam sports in the Asian event.

Following Việt Nam’s win, Nguyễn Ngọc Thiện, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, who is also President of the Việt Nam Olympic Committee, decided to present a cash bonus of VNĐ200 million to the team for their first entrance into ASIAD quarter-finals.

Thiện also congratulated the team and head coach Park Hang-seo on their good performance at the continental tournament, which made Vietnamese football fans happy.

He also reminded the Việt Nam Football Federation to take care of the team well to have the best form for the next game with Syria on August 27.

Meanwhile, the Voice of Việt Nam (VOV) awarded VNĐ500 million to the team. — VNS
