HÀ NỘI — Some 320 overseas Vietnamese from 11 European countries competed in the Czech Open Golf Tournament under the European Vietnamese Golf Association (EVGA) Tour Championship 2018 over the weekend.

The two-day tournament in the Czech Republic, which closed on July 1, attracted the largest ever number of participants so far, drawing golfers from the UK, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria and Việt Nam.

Nguyễn Khắc Thành and Vũ Thị Hồng Mai were respectively the men’s and women’s champions respectively.

The golfers played at the Konopiste Golf Resort, situated 40km from Prague. It offered a venue for overseas Vietnamese in Europe to strengthen friendship, thus promoting solidarity among Vietnamese communities in European countries.

The EVGA Tour Championship is an annual golf tournament system of overseas Vietnamese in Europe. This year, there will be eight tournaments across the continent, with the event in the Czech Republic the fifth. — VNS
