Dương Trí Thành was elected chairman of the Việt Nam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation (VCRSF) in its meeting in Hà Nội yesterday.

HÀ NỘI — Dương Trí Thành was elected chairman of the Việt Nam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation (VCRSF) in its meeting in Hà Nội yesterday.

Thành, general director of Vietnam Airlines, will be in charge for the 2018-21 term.

During his term, Thành and his executive board aim to develop training for canoeing, rowing and sailing across the country and improve the results of national teams in the international tournaments.

In the past, Việt Nam won a total of 73 golds, 58 silvers and 48 bronzes in international events.

Notably, Vietnamese rowers Hồ Thị Lý and Tạ Thanh Huyền reached the semifinals of the lightweight women’s double sculls in the Rio Olympics 2016. — VNS
