HCM CITY – More than 220 Vietnamese and foreign children aged between six and nine took part in the Kids’ Dash, a marathon for kids, in HCM City at the weekend.

The event, part of the HCM City Marathon V, saw kids run up to two kilometres.

“The Kids’ Dash has created an image of strength, spirit and desire to win in the children," Nguyễn Hoài Phương, general director of Gong Cha Việt Nam, a sponsor of the event, said.

"Kids have various reasons for joining the event but all of them want to reach the finish.

“Children ran with the support of their families. The event was not only a sport event but also a chance for children to study each other and for families to show their love.”

Twelve winners received prizes from the organiser and sponsors, and all the runners received a medal.

The HCM City Marathon was first held in 1992.

Last year it had 24,000 participants. VNS
