HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s Best Tennis Players Tournament will be organised in Nghệ An Province from December 17 to 22.
Sixteen male and eight female athletes will take part in the singles events, while eight men’s pairs and four women’s duos will compete in the doubles categories.
They are competitors who currently have the highest national ranking, such as Vũ Aterm, Trịnh Linh Giang and Phạm Minh Tuấn on the men’s side and Phan Thị Thanh Bình and Tâm Hảo on the women’s side.
The organisers said that the winning players will be selected for the national teams, which will participate in the Davis Cup and Fed Cup, as well as the Asian Games next year.
This year’s tournament sees a record in bonuses for the winners. The men’s gold medalist will take home VNĐ50 million (US$2,300), while the women’s gold medalist will receive VNĐ40 million ($1,800), apart from points for their rankings.
