HÀ NỘI — Lê Quang Liêm pocketed the third draw at the Danzhou Super Grandmaster Tournament in China yesterday.

Vietnamese Liêm in the white-piece side tied with Yu Yangji of the host after 69 moves.

The third draw pulled Liêm, on 1.5 point, from No 4 to No 8 in the 10-man ranking table. Yu with the same point secured Liêm’s previous place.

Liêm will now play Russian Vladimir Malakhov, who is currently in the fourth position. Yesterday, Malakhov tied with Chinese Wang Hao.

His country-fellow Ding Liren is second with 2 points.
