HÀ NỘI — Lý Hoàng Nam won his first match in the China F12 Men’s Futures tennis tournament yesterday in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province.
The Vietnamese came back to beat Sergey Betov of Belarus 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 in the singles match. The No 6 seed will next face the winner of the match between Wang Aorang and Lyu Chengze, both of the hosts.
Nam has also entered the doubles category and is seeded third alongside Sun Fajing of China. In their first match they will play Hong Kong’s Wong Chun-hun and Wong Hong-kit.
The F12 tournament has a total purse of US$25,000 and finishes on July 16. — VNS
