Ngân wins taekwondo gold in S Korea

Vietnamese martial artist Hồ Thị Kim Ngân won a gold medal at the second competition day of the Chuncheon South Korea Open International Taekwondo Championships on Tuesday.

HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese martial artist Hồ Thị Kim Ngân won a gold medal at the second competition day of the Chuncheon South Korea Open International Taekwondo Championships on Tuesday.

Ngân beat Japanese Eguchi Mahiro in the final of the women’s under 49kg category.

Ngân has practiced taekwondo for four years and won a gold medal in the 44kg division in the World Junior Taekwondo Championships held in Canada last year.

Ngân, from the southern province of An Giang, also won gold medals in the 41kg category in the Southeast Asian and Asia tournament in 2015.

The Chuncheon South Korea Open has attracted more than 1,000 athletes from 60 countries and territories. It will end on Friday. — VNS
