HÀ NỘI — Viet Nam’s top tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam won the men’s singles title of the Thailand F3 Men’s Futures tennis tournament on Saturday.

Nam, world No 529, came from behind to beat French Jankovits Yannick, No 2 seed and world No 414, 2-6, 7-6, 6-4.

Yannick has 13 Men’s Futures titles to his name, while this is Nam’s second taste of Futures success, after winning the Việt Nam F5 Futures last year.

“I am very happy with this title. It is the most meaningful title for me because I won it on away ground. It will be a driving force for me,” said Nam.

With this trophy, Nam is expected to enter the world’s top 500 for the first time. — VNS
