HÀ NỘI — Lý Hoàng Nam of Vietnam and Yuichi Ito of Japan advanced to the quarter-finals of the doubles event in the Singapore F3 Men’s Futures tennis tournament.
The No. 4 seeds defeated the Indian pair Manish Sureshkumar and Suraj Prabodh 6-1, 6-2 yesterday.
They will next play Jake Delaney and Benjamin Hannestad, who got a walkover after their rivals Sidharth Rawat and Dalwinder Singh retired when the score was 2-1.
In other doubles matches, No. 2 seeds Justin Barki and Chen Ti beat Yutaro and Matsuzaki 2-6, 6-4, 12-20; Jorge Blanco Guadalupe and Bruno Mardones won 6-3, 6-1 over Michael Look and Dane Propoggia.
In the singles category, Vietnamese Trịnh Linh Giang’s campaign came to a halt after losing 2-6, 4-6 to Marc-Andrea Huesler of Switzerland.
No. 5 seed Sanam Singh from India was defeated by Nicholas Hu of the United States; No. 8 Ito beat American David Nguyen 6-7 (1), 6-2, and No. 7 Antoine Bellier of Switzerland trounced Hao Yuan Ng of the hosts 6-2, 6-2. — VNS
