Tâm wins fifth stage of HCM City Television Cycling

HÀ NỘI — National team member Nguyễn Thành Tâm won the fifth stage of the HCM City Television Cycling Tournament on Thursday.

The cyclist from Hạt Ngọc Trời An Giang sprinted to the finish line of the 127km stage, from Gia Nghĩa Town (Đắk Nông Province) to Buôn Mê Thuột (Đắk Lắk Province), in a time of 3hr 5.47min.

He outclassed Nguyễn Tấn Hoài (Domesco Đồng Tháp) and Lê Văn Duẩn (VUS HCM City) to bag his first win, which pushed him to second position with 21 points in the green jersey race.

Huỳnh Thanh Tùng (Military Zone 7) is leading with 28 points.

After five stages, Nguyễn Dương Hồ Vũ of HCM City’s youth squad is still the overall leader, clocking a total time of 10hr 12.25min.

He is followed by Giang Thanh Tuấn of Army and Nguyễn Hoàng Thái of Calytos Đồng Tháp.

BTV Đại Nam Bình Dương lead the team ranking. Military Zone 7 and Domesco Đồng Tháp are second and third, respectively.

In today’s sixth stage, riders will tour 80km --\ from Buôn Mê Thuột City to Buôn Đôn District and back. — VNS
