HÀ NỘI — The Army team won the National Shooting Cup yesterday in Hà Nội, having secured 18 gold medals.
On the last day of competition, Army’s Đậu Văn Đông won his second gold of the event in the men’s 25m individual centre-fire pistol, with 583 points.
HCM City’s Bùi Hồng Phong and Phan Xuân Chuyên grabbed the silver and bronze, respectively.
With two athletes in the individual top three, HCM City earned the team title with 1,159 points.
The Army team came second with 1,146 points. It was their 18th silver medal at the annual event. The team also claimed eight bronzes and two records.
Hà Nội came second in the overall ranking. The hosts’ shooters scored seven golds together with one record result.
Hải Dương stood in third with six titles and one record. — VNS
