HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese striker Lê Công Vinh was the best player in the ASEAN Football Federation’s Group B match in Yangon on Sunday, in which Việt Nam won 2-1 against Myanmar.
The football magazine and website fourfourtwo said Vinh scored the second crucial goal for Việt Nam in the 79th minute, gaining him the highest point of 8.5. Vinh was at the heart of everything Việt Nam did in the attacking third, the website said. He moved off the ball constantly to make himself available for a pass and managed to unlock Myanmar’s backline.
Ranking behind Vinh are Vũ Văn Thanh, Ngô Hoàng Thịnh and Trần Nguyên Mạnh, with 7 points.
The website said Thanh too played solidly on Sunday night, especially with his overlapping runs down the left. While he could have helped out more in defence in the second half, he cannot be blamed for the goal Việt Nam conceded, it further said.
Nguyễn Văn Quyết, Nguyễn Trọng Hoàng, Phạm Thành Lương, Nguyễn Văn Toàn and Lương Xuân Trường received 6.5 points each, while Trương Đình Luật and Quế Ngọc Hải received the lowest points of 5.5. — VNS
