Đà Nẵng — Vietnamese Vũ Thị Mến leapt 13.11m to win gold in the women’s triple jump of the fifth Asian Beach Games (ABG5) at Sơn Thủy beach yesterday.
Mến beat her teammate Trần Huệ Hoa, who took silver with a 13.06m jump.
Thailand’s Chuaimaroeng Parinya ranked third, jumping 12.66m.
In the men’s 4x60m relay final yesterday, Thailand won gold in 26.19 seconds, ahead of Oman, who came in second with 26.58 seconds, and Việt Nam, in third with a time in 26.93 seconds.
Thai athletes also bagged gold in the women’s 4x60m relay with a time of 28.62sec, beating out Việt Nam, who finished second with 29.16sec, and China, in third with 29.87sec.
Vietnamese Hồ Thị Lý grabbed the bronze medal in the women’s solo (CW1x) rowing in three minutes 40.31 seconds.
Gold went to Corputty Chelsea of Indonesia, who finished first in 3min 40.9sec, while Pitukpaothai Tippaporn of Thailand ranked second in 3min 53.6sec.
Badminton player Đinh Văn Đức beat Mainoi Praphan of Thailand 2-0 (21-13,21-16) in the men’s singles final yesterday to take home gold, while Nguyễn Thị Ánh Nguyệt won gold in the women’s singles.
