HÀ NỘI — Player Trần Long Vũ has decided to retire after a successful Futsal World Cup in Colombia.
“My World Cup dream has come true. I have been dreaming about it since I started playing futsal. It felt really wonderful and is a milestone in my career. However, I have decided to retire,” Vũ said, returning home yesterday to a warm welcome from his family at HCM City’s Tân Sơn Nhất Airport.
The 28-year-old plays for national champions Thái Sơn Nam Club. He is one of the most experienced members of the national team. He has been contemplating retirement for a while because of injuries suffered during competitions.
Vũ said he would still assist boss Trần Anh Tú in training activities of Thái Sơn Nam and the national futsal team, if required. — VNS
