Đà Nẵng — Providing over 600 journalists with the cutting-edge facilities, the 5th Asian Beach games launched its Main Media Centre, and its subsidiaries the International Broadcasting Centre and Main Press Centre, yesterday.
Director of the centre, Hoàng Dự said it was built on total area of 850sq.m, will be the main workplace for reporters and journalists from participating countries and territories.
Dự said the organising committee also set up sub-media centres at sporting venues to create quick media services with fast internet systems and wireless services.
He also said that a shuttle bus system will carry reporters from the media centre to the four main venues along the Đà Nẵng coastline from morning till the last competition event of each day.
As scheduled, East Sea Park will serve as the main venue for the opening and closing ceremonies as well as men’s beach soccer, Kabaddi, body-building, three-a-side basketball, Thai Muay, traditional martial arts, wrestling, Sambo, Jujitsu, Kurash, Vietnamese martial arts (Vovinam), pencak silat, shuttle cock kicking, marathon swimming, rowing and water polo.
The Mỹ Khê beach venue will host beach volleyball, handball and sepak takraw, while bowling (wooden ball), petanque (iron ball bowling), and athletics will take place at Phương Trang and Sơn Thuỷ beaches. — VNS
