Như sixth in 100m breaststroke in Rio

Vietnamese Paralympic swimmer Trịnh Thị Bích Như finished sixth in the final of the women’s 100m breaststroke, SB5 category, at the ongoing Rio Paralympics in Brazil.

HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese Paralympic swimmer Trịnh Thị Bích Như finished sixth in the final of the women’s 100m breaststroke, SB5 category, at the ongoing Rio Paralympics in Brazil.

She clocked a time of 1:51:07, beating her result in the qualifying round of 1:52:06.

The gold and silver medal went to Mereshoko Yelyzaveta and Savtsova Viktoriia of Ukraine with a time of 1:41.63 and 1:42.14, respectively. Song Lingling of China took bronze with a time of 1:45.21.

Earlier, Như finished eighth in the 50m butterfly.

On the men’s side, Đỗ Thanh Hải ranked seventh with a time of 1:40:31. Forsman Karl of Sweden won gold with a time of 1:34:27. Lim Woo Geun of South Korea received silver with a time of 1:35:18 and Ragel Pedro of Mexico got the bronze medal with a time of 1:37:84.

In the men’s 100m breaststroke SB4, Nguyễn Thành Trung placed sixth with a time of 1:49:67. — VNS
