Việt Nam will compete in the sixth Children of Asia International Sports Games in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) from July 4-18.
The 55-strong delegation will compete in six out of 22 events against athletes from 38 teams.
Since 1996 the Games have been held every four years, as an initiative of Sakha’s first President, Mikhail Nikolayev, to commemorate the centennial of the modern Olympic Games.
The Games give young Asian athletes a chance to meet at sports venues, to embrace the spirit of international friendship, including respect and tolerance of their counterparts.
In the last Games in 2012, Sakha welcomed more than 2,000 participants competing on 34 teams. -- VNS
