HÀ NỘI — Lý Hoàng Nam was ousted at the quarter-finals of the India F3 Futures’ men’s singles yesterday in Jassowal City.

The Vietnamese player lost 6-3, 6-3, 6-2 to No 1 seed Vishnu Vardhan of the host country.

Nam had a good start when he found a way to resist Vardhan’s powerful serve before collecting a break point at the eighth game and winning the first set.

However, he could not maintain his peak as Vardhan took advances from his serves and won against his only break point in the second game, equaling the result.

Vardhan continued to dominate the third set when Nam was exhausted and the Indian finished at 6-2.

Vardhan will play the semi-final match against the winner of the match between Imai Shintaro of Japan and Jayesh Pungliya of India. — VNS
