Nguyên places second at Asian taekwondo champs

Hà Thị Nguyên won Việt Nam a silver medal at the Asian Taekwondo Championship, which ended in the Philippines on Wednesday.

Nguyên lost 5-10 to Chuang Chia Chia of Chinese Taipei in the final of the women’s U67kg category.

Earlier her teammate Trương Thị Kim Tuyền pocketed a bronze medal in the women’s 49kg class.

She was defeated 4-7 by Thai Panipak Wongpattakit in the semi-final match. Wongpattakit went on to win the gold medal.

In the previous competition two years ago, Việt Nam took two silver and one bronze. – VNS
