HÀ NỘI — The Điện Biên Phủ Marathon 2024 - Back to Blooming Fortress is a marathon event scheduled to take place on January 14 in Điện Biên Phủ City, Điện Biên Province.

With an estimated 1,500 runners participating, the race will offer categories of 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km.

Participants will have the opportunity to run routes through scenic and historically significant areas in and around Điện Biên Phủ City.

The event holds significance as it aims to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Việt Nam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023).
