VĨNH PHÚC — UK golf legend Nick Faldo recently visited Việt Nam on the first anniversary of Thanh Lanh Valley Golf & Resort in Vĩnh Phúc Province.

Young and talented Vietnamese golfers had a chance to play with Faldo in a friendly event.

Faldo was surprised by the development of golf in Việt Nam.

“Việt Nam is inherently attractive to me and offers many interesting experiences, but what surprised me were the young golfers. They've made incredible strides and some of them could become famous golfers," he said.

After retiring, Faldo has tried to develop the future of golf through the Faldo Series, a non-profit tournament that takes place annually in many countries, including Việt Nam with the goal of helping young talent.

“Faldo Series has been held for the past 26 years, 17 years in Asia alone,” Faldo said.

“Faldo Series in Việt Nam will soon be announced. Việt Nam has a wonderful climate and landscape, and if it is combined with advanced facilities and training methods, it will produce outstanding talents in the future."

Faldo has won the European Tour 30 times and won six majors in his career. VNS
