19 community cases reported on Wednesday evening

The National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Wednesday evening announced 20 new cases of COVID-19 including 19 community cases and one imported case.

HÀ NỘI — The National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Wednesday evening announced 20 new cases of COVID-19 including 19 community cases and one imported case.

Nine cases are workers in Chí Linh City, northern Hải Dương Province and have been quarantined since the outbreak was detected in the province. Five others are related to the cluster in Lê Lợi Ward, Hải Dương Province.

Quảng Ninh Province recorded four cases who had close contact with positive cases confirmed earlier in Chí Linh City.

One case is from Ia Pa District in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.

The only imported case is a 25-year-old man from northern Bắc Ninh Province who entered Việt Nam in central Đà Nẵng City on a flight from Japan.

He is being treated at the general hospital of Quảng Nam Province.

Earlier in the morning, the committee announced nine community cases including four in Gia Lai, two in Hải Dương, two in Bình Dương and one in Hà Nội.

Eight out of nine cases are related to Hải Dương. One case is being investigated. — VNS
