HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam recorded 12 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday evening, including 11 locally transmitted and one imported case.
The new cases bring the total number of COVID-19 patients in Việt Nam to 976.
The new locally transmitted cases include six in central Đà Nẵng City, four in northern Hải Dương Province and one in the capital Hà Nội.
The patients in Đà Nẵng, aged between 33-59, consist of three family members of COVID-19 patients, a medical worker in Đà Nẵng Hospital, a guard at the hospital and a resident of Thanh Khê District.
The 25-year-old female patient in Hà Nội's Hai Bà Trưng District had close contact with COVID-19 patient No 962. She is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No 1 in the city's Đông Anh District.
The four patients in Hải Dương, aged between 13-41, are all linked to the virus outbreak in the province's Ngô Quyền Street which earlier recorded five cases of COVID-19. They are all being treated at the Hải Dương Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
The imported male patient, 42, is one among workers who returned to Việt Nam from Equatorial Guinea aboard the flight VN6 on July 29. He is treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No 1.
Of all the people to catch the virus, 467 have so far made a full recovery. — VNS
