24th person dies of COVID-19 complications

A woman has died of COVID-19 complications in Việt Nam, the 24th coronavirus-related fatality in the country.

HÀ NỘI — A woman has died of COVID-19 complications in Việt Nam, the 24th coronavirus-related fatality in the country.

The 82-year-old from Hải Châu in Đà Nẵng City was suffering from meningitis and was being treated at Hoà Vang District Health Center in the central city.

She died on Sunday morning.

The cause of death has been recorded as pneumonia caused by COVID-19 complications with severe respiratory failure and septic shock in meningitis.

Since the first case in January, 951 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of those, 617 are community infections and the rest imported.

A total of 477 cases are related to Đà Nẵng.

More than 107,000 people are currently being quarantined at hospitals, health centres and at their homes nationwide. — VNS
