Tour guide in Hà Nội tests positive for SARS-CoV-2

A tour guide in Cầu Giấy District, Hà Nội, is the latest SARS-CoV-2 patient in Việt Nam confirmed by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday, Vietnam Television reported.

HÀ NỘI — A tour guide in Cầu Giấy District, Hà Nội, is the latest SARS-CoV-2 patient in Việt Nam confirmed by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday, Vietnam Television reported.

This has brought the total number of infection cases in Hà Nội to five and in the country to 39.

The 29-year-old man works for Amazing Ninh Bình Company and had contact with British tourists who were on flight VN0054 from London to Hà Nội.

He guided the tourists to Ninh Bình Province.

The British tourists are being quarantined in Quảng Ninh Province.

The tour guide started to have a 37.6 degree Celsius fever on March 8 without coughing or shortness of breath.

Upon knowing the tourists tested positive for the virus, he went to Saint Paul Hospital in Hà Nội for a health check.

He is being quarantined in stable condition at the National Hospital for Tropical Disease No 2 in Đông Anh District, Hà Nội.

His rented house was sterilised on Tuesday night. Two people who owned the house have been put in quarantine.

Flight VN0054 has had so far 13 SARS-CoV-2 patients. Eleven are foreigners and two are Vietnamese. — VNS
