HÀ NỘI — A national forum on professional skills, the first of its kind in Việt Nam, will be officially launched on Saturday.

The information was revealed during a press conference on Monday afternoon by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

The theme of the national forum on Vietnamese labour skills promotion will be “Enterprises go together with renewal and vocational training quality promotion”.

The official session of the forum will attract participation of leaders of the Government, ministries and sectors, international organisations in Việt Nam and more than 300 big domestic enterprises.

Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Lê Quân said that the forum had an important meaning to policy makers, enterprises and vocational training schools.

Cooperation between enterprises and vocational training schools had recorded significant results in the past three years, but many problems still needed to be resolved, he said.

“Only when schools and enterprises cooperate, vocational training quality is improved,” said Quân.

If enterprises want human resources meeting their demand, they should work with schools, he added.

Deputy director of the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training Trương Anh Dũng said the forum aimed at confirming the vision and desire in preparing skilled human resources.

Since then, the country’s working productivity and competitive capacity will be enhanced, meeting the demand of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and international integration and contributing to the building of a start-up country, he said.

The forum would show slogans about enterprises’ role and responsibility in vocational training, and vocational training going closely with enterprises and the labour market.

It will also spread education on vocational training’s role and position in society and enterprise community to continue increasing vocational training’s scale and quality.

After the forum, the organiser will propose Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc issue instructions about measures to develop human resources with professional skills, and give direction to sectors, localities, enterprises and schools to co-operate in improving labour skills and vocational training quality. — VNS
