Coach and truck collide on Nội Bài-Lào Cai Expressway

HÀ NỘI — Five people were injured and one died after a 45-seat coach crashed into the rear of a truck on Nội Bài-Lào Cai Expressway on Monday morning.

The accident occurred at 4.25am while the coach was travelling from northern Lào Cài Province to Hà Nội on the section of the expressway that runs through Tam Dương District, the northern province of Vĩnh Phúc.

The truck was moving in the same direction.

The injured victims have been sent to Vĩnh Phúc Province General Hospital for treatment. Three of them suffered serious injuries.

The coach driver was luckily not injured, according to a representative of the expressway’s management board.

Traffic flow on the section has since returned to normal.
