Five drug traffickers arrested in Sơn La Province

Police in the northern mountainous province of Sơn La arrested five drug traffickers and seized three kilos of methamphetamine, five bricks of heroin and 790 synthetic drug pills on Sunday.

SƠN LA — Police in the northern mountainous province of Sơn La arrested five drug traffickers and seized three kilos of methamphetamine, five bricks of heroin and 790 synthetic drug pills on Sunday.

On 8:30am of Sunday, at Mộc Châu Town, district police apprehended two suspected drug traffickers, seizing three kilos of methamphetamine, 790 synthetic drug pills and a motorbike.

Both arrested persons were local residents. Hà Văn Thân, 29, was living in Mộc Châu Town’s Lóng Sập Commune, and Nguyễn Duy Sáu, 46, in Chiềng Hắc Commune.

They were caught while allegedly trying to carry drugs from the border area of Lóng Sập to Mộc Châu. The same day, police also seized Phạm Văn An, living in Bắc Giang Province for illegal drug storage.

In another case, at 5:30pm on Sunday, at Thái Hưng Village of Mường Sang Commune, police discovered Tráng A Hạ, 35, living at Lóng Sập Commune, and a Lao citizen, Vàng A Vàng, 18 when they were illegally transporting heroin, seizing five bricks of heroin, two smartphones and a motorbike from them.
