HÀ NỘI — The Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Thai Ministry of Labour have reached an agreement on sending guest workers to Thailand to work in the construction and fishing sectors.

The Vietnamese ministry’s Overseas Labour Management Department reported that it has made detailed guidelines on the project.

Accordingly, all enterprises which have licences for labour export are able to register for the programme.

Eligible guest workers have to pay for passports, medical check-ups, visa fees, essential supplement training, and contribution to the Overseas Employment Support Fund, according to the department.

Labour export enterprises are allowed to charge only one month’s salary for a one-year labour contract.

The department also noted that workers do not have to pay brokerages in order to go to work in Thailand and aviation fees as the fees will be covered by their Thai employers. — VNS
