LONDON — The Giang brothers are through to the final of the popular UK television show, Britain’s Got Talent.
Speaking to Việt Nam News on Saturday, older brother Giang Quốc Cơ said: "I could not believe we can make it this far.
"We are already very satisfied with this achievement no matter how the result of the finale is."
In a nail-biting live semi-final Friday night, the gymnasts from HCM City stunned the crowd with a death defying performance.
They were voted in the top three overall on the evening, alongside a comedian and a magician.
Only two of the acts could make it into Sunday’s live final and after the comedian was chosen, it meant there was just one place left.
The judges were deadlocked with Simon Cowell and Alisha Dixon choosing the pair from Việt Nam, while David Walliams and Amanda Holden opted for the magician.
Because of the tie, the decision went back to the voting public in the UK and host Declan Donnelly announced it was the Giang Brothers who had won a place.
The moment the two brothers hear they are through to Sunday's final of the show, Britain's Got Talent.
The pair, wearing red and green ao dai hugged each other and consolidated the runner up after they were chosen.
And they promised to pull out all the stops with a ’dangerous’ performance for Sunday’s final.
Younger brother Giang Quốc Nghiệp said: "Right now I am very happy and my emotions are deep. I would like to thank Britain’s Got Talent for letting me have the chance to make the Việt Nam people proud. Thank you."
Quốc Cơ added: "In the final we will do something very dangerous and I think you will never believe what we can do. Very dangerous."
Earlier, the pair were given a standing ovation after their semi-final routine which began with Quốc Cơ balancing his brother using just his foot.
And for their finale Nghiệp was balancing on his brother’s head, but this time Quoc Cơ was blindfolded!
