HÀ NỘI – President Trần Đại Quang has written to President Vladimir Putin thanking him, the Government, and people of Russia for the prompt and valuable aid sent to the Vietnamese people affected by typhoon Damrey.

On Tuesday, the Russian President instructed the Government of Russia to provide emergency aid worth US$5 million to help affected regions recover from the severe damage caused by Damrey.

An aircraft belonging to the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Affairs for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters landed at the Cam Ranh Airport in the central coastal province of Khánh Hòa yesterday with relief goods for the storm victims. — VNS
