ĐÀ NẴNG — Local car maker, Trường Hải Automobile joint-stock company (THACO), has delivered the first batch of 15 45-seat buses to Vietravel to serve as the main transport vehicle at the 2017 Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Summit in Đà Nẵng on November 5-11.
The local-made buses underwent safety testing and inspections by APEC’s security sub-committee before being put into use during the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.
According to Vietravel, the APEC-assigned vehicle supplier, more than 100 new cars, vans and buses were bought by the company for transporting delegates during the APEC Summit.
The event will bring together around 15,000 delegates including officials, tourists, CEOs, journalists from 21 APEC member economies.
Last month, the Auto Asia Company handed over the second batch of 258 Audi cars comprising the Audi A4, A6 and Q5 models to serve the 2017 APEC Summit.
The first batch of 131 Audi cars was delivered in April.
Some 400 Audi units will be sent to the National Committee for APEC 2017.
Also yesterday, a rescue and emergency training session was held in the central city in preparation for emergencies during the APEC Summit. — VNS
