A heat wave engulfed the North on Monday, with temperatures rising by one to two degrees Celsius, according to the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting.

HÀ NỘI  A heat wave engulfed the North on Monday, with temperatures rising by one to two degrees Celsius, according to the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting.

The temperatures in Vĩnh Yên City of Vĩnh Phúc Province are forecast to touch 36-37 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures ranging from 33 to 35 degrees Celsius are forecast in other localities.

Hà Nội’s temperature is forecast to reach 33-35 degrees Celsius.

Rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to occur on Tuesday.

The hot weather is also forecast on Monday in the central localities from Đà Nẵng to Bình Thuận, with the maximum temperature reaching up to 36 degrees Celsius.

On Sunday evening, a heavy downpour that lasted for several hours caused floods in some areas in Hà Nội, blocking traffic flow in the inner districts.  VNS
