HÀ NỘI — Certain vehicles will be banned from entering 10 different streets in Hà Nội during three rush-hour slots during the second APEC Senior Official Meeting (SOM2) from May 8-25, the city police has announced.

The three rush-hour slots are from 6am to 9am, from 11am to 2:30pm, and from 4pm to 7:30pm.

Trucks with loading capacity of over 500kg and 25+-seat buses will be banned from entering the streets of Phạm Hùng, Thăng Long Boulevard, Đỗ Đức Dục, Miếu Đầm and Trần Duy Hưng, in addition to Nguyễn Chí Thanh, Liễu Giai, Kim Mã, Đào Tấn and Láng.

Instead of running through city streets, the vehicles must travel via the National Highway No 5 to the northern provinces of Vĩnh Phúc and Phú Thọ.

Vehicles running from the south to the north, and vice-versa, will use Thăng Long Bridge and Ring Road No3.

When meeting convoys with traffic police cars, all vehicles must promptly give way, approach the curb and stop completely to give way to the convoy.

The police said the move is aimed to ensure smooth traffic flow during the SOM2. — VNS
