CÀ MAU — A serious car accident occurred earlier Friday on the Hồ Chí Minh Road section running through Rạch Thọ Village in the southern province of Cà Mau, killing one and injuring 11 others.
A seven-seat car was travelling from Đất Mũi Commune to Cà Mau City and hit a sixteen seat van running from the opposite direction when it tried to avoid a steamroller parked on the side of the road.
There were five people in the seven-seat car, driven by Trương Hai Nhỏ, 43, and seven others in the van, which was driven by Nguyễn Văn Trí, 36.
All the passengers were trapped in the two cars after the crash and later taken to the hospital. Driver Nguyễn Văn Trí died on the way, while 11 other are all seriously injured.
