Blast kills one, leaves two injured in Nha Trang

An explosion occurred on Tuesday in the city of Nha Trang, in the central province of Khanh Hoa, killing one man and severely injuring a further two.

KHÁNH HÒA – An explosion occurred on Tuesday in the city of Nha Trang, in the central province of Khanh Hoa, killing one man and severely injuring a further two.

A loud explosion was heard at around 9am from a factory of the 510 Construction Co, JSC on Trường Sơn Street in Vĩnh Trường Ward.

First responders to the scene reported a hole in the roof of the factory, and three people unconscious on the ground.

A preliminary police investigation showed that an oxygen-fuel tank exploded when the workers were using it to weld and cut metal.

One of the workers, 42-year-old Lê Xuân Huy from Thanh Hóa Province was killed by the blast. Nguyễn Tấn Thành, 33, from Đắk Lắk Province and Đinh Hồng Niên, 53, from Nghệ An Province, were critically injured and are receiving treatment.

Further investigation into the blast is currently underway. – VNS
