HẢI PHÒNG – Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc attended the groundbreaking ceremony of a 45-floor tower in Vinhomes Riva City urban area in the northern port city of Hải Phòng yesterday.
Covering an area of 30,000 sq.m, the project is invested by the Vingroup and designed by the Humphrey&Partners Architects of the US. It is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017.
With a height of 148m, the tower will be the highest infrastructure facility in the northern coastal region. It will include a shopping centre on the first and second floors, and part of the third storey. A five-star hotel with 300 rooms will cover the area of the 4th to 45th floors.
A gym, fitness and spa centres, and swimming pools will be also included in the building. The urban area highlight is also expected to attract luxury tourism, shopping and entertainment in Hải Phòng City. The Vinhomes Riva City is expected to become an important economic centre promoting socio-economic development in the city and adjacent areas.
PM visits Military Zone 3
Also yesterday, Prime Minister Phúc applauded the Military Zone 3’s outstanding performance as an adviser to the local Party Committees and authorities on national defence.
At a meeting with officers and soldiers of Military Zone 3, which has been tasked with safeguarding security in Sông Hồng (Red River) Delta provinces, the PM also hailed the unit’s engagement in flood and storm prevention, and rescue operations. He urged Military Zone 3 to exert greater efforts to fulfill national construction and defence tasks.
The Party and State always take care of the army to help its defence performance at all times, he stressed. The Government leader requested Military Zone 3 to continue staying vigilant, co-ordinate with other relevant forces to promptly handle problems that may arise and combine socio-economic development with national defence.
In the same vein, the unit should work harder to improve training quality and pay more heed to mass mobilisation and civil defence force building. “The Government will do its best to create resources for the army, including Military Zone 3,” he pledged, voicing his belief that the unit would take the lead in national defence and fulfill all assigned tasks. — VNS
