HCM CITY – HCM City People’s Committee has asked the Ministry of Planning and Investment to repair four kilometres of old water drainage systems in central districts.

The project, worth VNĐ233 billion (US$10 million), includes new pipes to be buried underground in District 1, 3, 4, and 10 using the Sewage Pipe Renewal (SPR) method to avoid blocking traffic flow.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency, which has piloted a similar project in the city, will support funds for the project.

Construction will begin in August and be completed in December 2018.
