HÀ NỘI — A total of 20 rest stops will be put into operation along the eastern section of the North-South Expressway during the upcoming National Day holiday, with an average of one service location every 75km.
The Department for Roads of Viet Nam said seven rest stops are currently open on the route, including two stops on the Hà Nội-Bắc Giang Expressway, one on the Giẽ-Ninh Bình Expressway, one on the Cao Bồ-Mai Sơn Expressway, one on the La Sơn-Hòa Liên Expressway, one on the HCM City-Long Thành-Dầu Giây Expressway and one on the HCM City-Trung Lương Expressway.
Of the 20 rest stops to be put into operation, 19 are managed by the Ministry of Construction, spanning the country from Mai Sơn-Highway 45 to the Hậu Giang-Cà Mau Expressway.
One temporary rest stop is located on the Cam Lâm-Vĩnh Hảo Expressway.
There will also be one parking area on the Đà Nẵng-Quảng Ngãi Expressway.
Eleven of the 20 rest stops are located at fuel stations, while five are on sections equipped with electric vehicle charging stations.
Aside from the rest stops and parking areas, the department said there are interchanges providing access to and from the expressway, as well as nearby services offering fuel, food and other essential services, which will meet the needs of travellers and vehicles. — VNS
