HCM CITY — More than 350 local and international healthcare professionals gathered at a science and technology conference in HCM City on Friday (October 31) to share expertise and update the latest research and innovations in medical science and digital transformation to improve healthcare quality.
Thủ Đức General Hospital held its 8th annual science and technology conference with the theme “Implementing technological sciences and digital transformation to enhance healthcare quality.”
Dr. Vũ Trí Thanh, director of the hospital, said science, technology, and digital transformation have become key driving forces propelling modern healthcare forward – from diagnosis and treatment to medical record management, hospital operations, and administration.
“Technological advancements not only enhance professional efficiency and reduce the workload for healthcare staff but also improve patient satisfaction and convenience, contributing to building the image of a modern, professional and friendly hospital.”

This year’s conference brings together multi-specialty expertise and focuses on digital transformation, aligning with the modern direction of the healthcare sector.
It featured one plenary session and six parallel symposiums with 57 scientific presentations across multiple specialties, including internal medicine, general surgery and nursing.
It also included several advanced topics such as the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare; RNA-based intervention in lowering LDL-C; pediatric thoracoscopic surgery; management of H. pylori infection in children; IDF 2025 diabetes treatment guidelines; and strategies for controlling multidrug-resistant bacteria.
A special highlight at this year's event is a clinical psychology session conducted in English, with the participation of experts from France, Germany, and the Fulbright Vietnam Programme, fostering valuable international academic exchange.

Thủ Đức General Hospital, under the city Department of Health, is recognised as one of the top 10 hospitals in the city with the highest quality assessment scores in 2024.
