HÀ NỘI — The Vietnamese Talent Awards 2025 have celebrated remarkable achievements in healthcare and digital technology, marking two decades of recognising innovation and scientific excellence across Việt Nam.
The top prize in healthcare was awarded to the project 'Multi-organ transplantation from brain-dead donors at Việt Đức Friendship Hospital,' led by Dr Dương Đức Hùng and his team.
The project stands as a landmark in Vietnamese medicine — a testament to compassion, professionalism and cutting-edge expertise. Việt Đức Friendship Hospital has long been at the forefront of surgery, having performed 2,478 organ transplants to date, including 109 heart, eight lung, 169 liver and more than 2,100 kidney transplants.
Between 2019 and 2025, the hospital achieved four successful dual-organ transplants — heart-lung, heart-liver, heart-kidney and liver-kidney — placing Việt Nam among a select group of countries capable of performing such highly complex procedures.
Director of Việt Đức Friendship Hospital Dr Hùng said the award honoured generations of doctors who had dared to push the boundaries of medical science.
He said their greatest reward was seeing patients regain life and hope.

The digital technology category remains the centrepiece of the Vietnamese Talent Awards, with 168 products competing this year. The organising committee awarded three Second Prizes, five Third Prizes and one Consolation Prize, with no First Prize given.
Among the winners, HSPTek JSC received a Second Prize for its AIoT Edge Computing Platform 'KIMQ.' The device uses Qualcomm chipsets and can handle up to 100 trillion operations per second. Its small 40x47mm design is easy to upgrade and install, helping businesses reduce costs and improve efficiency.
The AI-based Phishing Website Detection Tool, developed by Anti-Scam Company and led by cybersecurity expert Ngô Minh Hiếu, won a Third Prize in the Promising Digital Technology Product category. Using advanced AI algorithms, the tool analyses websites in real time and identifies potential scams with 98 per cent accuracy, giving users a detailed risk score in under 30 seconds.
Since its launch, the tool has conducted more than 68,000 analyses, helping users detect and avoid online fraud. The development team aims to integrate it into Việt Nam’s national digital safety network and expand its reach across Southeast Asia by 2030.
At the awards ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn praised the programme as one of Việt Nam’s most respected honours in science, technology and education.
Originally focused on information technology, the awards have since expanded to include digital technology, healthcare, young talent, lifelong learning and dedication.
The 2025 edition, themed 'Honouring talent, inspiring creativity,' attracted a growing number of young innovators aged 16 to 30, from high school students to university researchers and start-up founders — evidence of Việt Nam’s dynamic and evolving innovation ecosystem.
In total, this year’s awards recognised nine digital technology projects, four healthcare initiatives, two in education, one in young talent and five in lifelong learning and dedication.
Launched in 2004 and co-organised by the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education and the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), the awards recognise individuals and groups whose creativity and research have advanced the nation’s development.
Over 20 years, the programme has attracted more than 7,500 authors and teams, received over 3,500 scientific works and honoured 210 exemplary projects, including more than 50 that have been successfully commercialised in Việt Nam and abroad. — VNS
